ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF ANIMUS

Antoine Revoy was born in Paris, France, in 1977
and grew up in Tokyo, Japan, where his family moved to in 1984. As a six-year-old, Antoine started learning Japanese when alone, playfully deciphering the television shows, manga and magazines which so intrigued him. These discoveries opened up a fascinating world of folklore and fiction (and gigantic robots, extravagant wrestlers, talking animals…) which inspire Antoine to this day.

Following moves to Mexico, Spain, China and Ireland, Antoine now resides on the haunted East Coast of the United States. He creates illustrations for clients such as Der Spiegel, Hasbro and the New York Times, receiving awards and distinction from the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Graphis, PRINT Magazine and Spectrum. After several years of writing and drawing, he is very happy to now share his debut graphic novel, ANIMUS, with the (living) world.

In addition to his activity as a writer and illustrator, Antoine currently teaches at his alma mater, the Rhode Island School of Design, where he is excited and grateful to collaborate with the next generation of artists (the future is in good hands!). He lives in Providence, RI, with his wife, illustrator Kelly Murphy and their many animal companions
(all of whom make appearances in ANIMUS, in roles big and small).
